Jyväskylä Winter School on Neural Mechanisms of Learning 28th - 31st January 2016

Jyväskylä Winter School on Neural Mechanisms of Learning will be held in Jyväskylä, Finland, in January 2016.  The Winter School is organized by the ChildBrain consortium, Department of Psychology, and Jyväskylä Centre for Interdisciplinary Brain Research. The event is planned for 70 participants and consists of four days with 5 symposia and 4 key note lectures on brain research methods, neurocognitive disorders and brain development. Other lectures cover more general topics like science communication skills and career planning.

Last summer we organized MEG/EEG Analysis Summer School and Satellite event "Introduction to Eye Tracking Method" in the end of August, 2014. More than 50 participants from seven different countries attended the Summer School.

ChildBrain training network is aiming to advance neuroscientific knowledge for helping children, especially those with neurocognitive disorders, to meet future educational and societal demands. The network aims to develop new, innovative brain imaging-based tools to be applied in improving diagnosis and treatment of neurocognitive disorders, as well as enhancing targeted educational programs. ChildBrain is a European Training Network funded by the European Union H2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.

University of Jyväskylä, founded in 1863, is situated at Central Finland by the lake Jyväsjärvi. The University hosts 15 000 undergraduate students and the Department of Psychology 400 students. The research themes at the Department relate to human development, learning, and psychological interventions.
