Professor Nienke van Atteveldt (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam), a leading expert in educational neuroscience will visit Jyväskylä and give a lecture on adolescent motivation, incorporating neurobiological, as well as social and psychological perspectives.
Prof. Nienke van Atteveldt from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is visiting Jyväskylä and will give a lecture titled “Proving or improving yourself? Prof. van Atteveldt is one of the foremost experts in the field of educational neuroscience and currently leads two ERC-funded research projects.
Her research addresses questions such as student resilience and why certain adolescents avoid or embrace challenges. In her research program, learning is approached as a multi-level phenomenon, taking into account the neurobiology of learning, which is affected by a child’s individual learning history, beliefs and goals, as well as their social environment.
